Antiquing Dust.

Sometimes, also called Aging Powder....But no matter what you call it, it is awesome !

Antiquing Dust, is just like real dust, only cleaner.

It works beautifully to create an aged and dusty looking piece of furniture, just like the ones found in grandma’s attic.

The dust comes in 6 gorgeous colours:

PALE GREY  and DARK GREY

IVORY, SANDSTONE, CHOCOLATE MUD and OUTBACK

To use on furniture......

After painting with chalk paint or any paint really, and distressing your piece, apply a coat of wax, making sure it goes into all the nooks and crannies. Allow to set up for about 10 to 15 minutes.

With a dry brush, apply the Dust generously, pressing it into the details of the furniture piece. Let it sit for about 30 minutes. Gently dust off the excess. Return the excess dust back into the tin to use again.

Gently buff the high points with a wadded up piece of lint free fabric. An old T shirt is good for this step.

When removing the excess dust, the dust may smudge and look terrible. Please don't worry as this is normal due to the pigments used. Just put a little wax on a piece of clean cloth and wipe the smudges away.

have fun with it.

A sprinkling of Antiquing Dust on a piece of art is amazing also and will make your masterpiece look like an antique.

RUST PASTE... set of 2 x 100g jars   $ 14.00

Large, flexible applique painted with Patina Paste

PATINA PASTE... set of 2 x 100g jars   $ 14.00

How to apply the Rust Paste and Patina Paste.

Can be used on anything ! Even paper and card.

RUST
Paint the applique, or anything really....with a coat of black acrylic paint. Let dry. Using an old thick brush, or your finger... I like using my finger because I love getting messy.... dab the brown paste all over the applique, nice and thick. Allow to dry. Then apply the red paste here and there. It's not an exact science so have fun with it. Allow to dry. A coating of black wax can be put on if you want but it's optional. Spray varnish is also optional.

The PATINA Paste is applied in the same way...I like to use a base coat of copper coloured acrylic paint for this. First the blue paste and then the greenish blue.
The effect is very strong and will not come off.
